Australian Catholic University (ACU) believes that creating a culture of safety and respect is a shared responsibility and as students you play a key role in fostering a positive, respectful and inclusive community at ACU.

“Bystander Awareness Training is for every person, it will allow you to challenge your beliefs and assumptions about the drivers of violence embedded in our culture and our communities. Each of us has a different level of confidence and approach to intervening in problematic situations, however, through this training you will come away with strategies that will give you the confidence to be someone, that does something.
Whilst we often gender our discussion to violence against women we know that the discussion involves every person and what we can all to do prevent violence in our homes, workplaces, at university and our broader community regardless of gender, race, and sexual orientation. “

The Bystander Awareness Training program will be facilitated by Kellie Maxwell, National Manager, Safeguarding and Student Safety; Taleah Neowhouse, National Manager, Safeguarding and Student Safety; Simone Gallo National Manager, Student Accommodation; and Sarah Rose, Senior Manager, Student Transition and Retention.

The program will be facilitated virtually over 4 hours.

Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of recognition.
