Mission Week: Random Acts of Kindness Day

To kick off Mission Week, a very familiar day - with taking kindness challenges to action, freebies to grab, affirmations to encourage you, RAK Day is meant to be a day where each person experiences some random act of kindness as we all bunch together to spread our culture of kindness at ACU.

You can help make ACU a place where random acts of kindness are happening every day.

Writer and peace activist Anne Herbert coined the phrase “practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of
beauty” in 1982 when she wrote it on a restaurant serviette in San Francisco. Just over ten years later Professor
Chuck Wall of Bakersfield College, California, challenged his students to perform a “random act of senseless
kindness” after hearing a radio report describing “another random act of senseless violence”. ACU’s Random Acts
of Kindness Day each semester have their genesis somewhere in the middle of this thinking.
