Students and staff -- I hope semester 1 went well. I know some students are going on placements soon or started today (education or nursing), are finishing assignments and/or getting reading for exams, so I wish you well. Please come back to us as soon as you can, though!
We now have less than four weeks until our concerts! If you've been gone for a few weeks, you're most welcome to come back again. Or even start with us now if you have time to learn the music.
Please take note of the following:
ACU CHOIR REHEARSALS
There will be no rehearsal at ACU this evening (Mon 2 June) nor the following Monday (King's Birthday holiday). Instead, we're combining Choir and Orchestra in the evenings on Wed 4 June and Wed 11 June as noted below. I will continue with TUESDAY LUNCHTIME and TUESDAY ZOOM rehearsals this week (and then decide what's feasible after this week).
TUES JUNE 3
1:00-2:30PM in the Chapel (longer rehearsal)
5-6PM on Zoom
WED JUNE 4
Location: Music Room, building 420, level LG, room 20 (held here due to exams).
Getting there: Easiest way to find the room is to enter via 115B Victoria Parade* (building 421). Turn LEFT — do not go up the escalator. Keep following the walls around to the left into the adjacent building 420. From an open area (you'll see lift doors to your right), keep going down a little corridor — keep turning left until reaching Room 20 at the end. (If you go to the GYM or the TOILETS, go back because you passed the little corridor).
*Alternatively, if entering via the rear of the building through the cafeteria, take the lift opposite the concierge desk down to level LG. The little corridor mentioned above will be to your left when you exit the left.

7:30 PM break (refreshments provided)
7:45 PM Orchestra continues in the Music Room. Choir will move to a different room (probably in the Chapel)

WED JUNE 11
Location: Recital Room, building 408 Level G room 11 (Graham St).
Similar schedule as per June 4
SAT JUNE 14 & 21, 1-4pm
Recital Hall, choirs combined with orchestra. VERY IMPORTANT REHEARSALS.

6-9PM, Recital Hall — combined choirs with Indonesian choir (especially lots of work on Janger!)

3PM(TBC) dress rehearsal

- compressed print version of Mvt II A Thought Storm (an audio file is now up on SoundCloud)
- annotated print version of Mvt III You Are Enough (with adjustments for the basses in the final section)
- individual part tracks for You Will Be Found, and the "reduced" version of Janger. (Now that semester 1 classes have finished at ACU, I have time to work on these).
THIS DAY
This will be our concert finale. I'm working on adding some instruments to the end, along with a keychange into the third (final) page. (NOTE: Firework, Always Was and Courage to Be Who We Are have been dropped from the program).
