I tried sending you a message in 2024, but had problems accessing ACULife so some of this is belated. Please read all the way through because there are some exciting opportunities coming up very soon.

Thank you to those who came along and sang carols at the Christmas Mass (which was standing room only!) and also sang or played instruments for our annual carolling at St Vincent's Hospital. Great to see some new faces! I am very grateful Beth was able to lead the St V's carols. Beth started this tradition many years ago! Here's a special message from Beth, which was sent to some in December via email:
I, too, want to thank you all for coming to carols in the hospital last Friday. It was a very special time and your singing was glorious and it was also wonderful to have three musicians accompany us. I thought we sounded amazing.
Thank you for the photos and video, they are very lovely for us to have to add to our records.
There seems to be quite a few people missing off this email list, and I hope it is possible to send them our thanks and tell them how grateful we are for their contribution.

January: Intervarsity Choral Festival
This is happening this month (January) in Sydney. If you're going, please let us know!
March: No Excuses Women's Choir
- What: A special gala event in Canberra will include a performance of movements from No Excuses for soprano and alto voices only. The event commemorates the 50th anniversary of the longest running women's refuge in Australia. The keynote speaker at the event will be Rosie Batty.
- When: Saturday 15 March. Afternoon rehearsal and evening event in Canberra.
- Where: Canberra (exact location TBA).
- Who: Women who sing soprano or alto. This is open to ACU but being organised externally. We hope to combine with a women's choir based in Canberra.
- Music: Movements from No Excuses! A choral suite inspired by true stories from women survivors of family/domestic violence (performed at ACU in 2021). The movements we will perform were composed by Kathleen McGuire: Victim No More, The Next Day, Making No Excuses (plus "Because" -- spoken words). - Cost/getting there: You will need to make your own way to Canberra and organise your own accommodation. Those travelling from Melbourne will receive a free ticket to the gala, including a complimentary meal.
