Hosted by Startup&Angels, these pitch nights will showcase fast-growing tech companies to top Australian investors including Rampersand, LaunchVic, Birchal, Climate Tech Partners and Giant Leap.
Winners from both cities receive flights to compete at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in October, where they'll vie for US$1 million in funding from Silicon Valley VC Pegasus Tech Ventures.
This marks Melbourne's first-ever Startup World Cup event, while Sydney returns as part of Startup&Angels' Investor Week August 4 – 7. The global competition has grown to become the world's largest startup tournament since 2017, featuring over 100 regional events across six continents.
Last year, Sydney-based proptech BuildBuddy represented Australia at the San Francisco finale, with US clean energy company EarthGrid PBC taking home the top prize.
