Thinking about what happens after you finish your law degree?

To become a lawyer in Victoria, everyone must complete Practical Legal Training (PLT) before they can be admitted. PLT courses teach you the practical skills of lawyering.

These courses typically cost between $10k–$15k and take around 6 months to complete. It's not something everyone knows about when they start their degree, but it's crucial to have the full picture: what PLT actually involves, which providers are out there, and how your choice could shape your future career.

Not sure where to start? Join us at the TMLSM PLT Panel 2026! You'll be hearing directly from representatives of Leo Cussen, the College of Law, and ACAP — the leading PLT providers — who've been through it themselves and can offer advice beyond what you'll find in a brochure.

Stick around afterwards to chat and network with firm reps and fellow law students in a relaxed setting!

Whether you're a final year student gearing up to apply next year, or a student in an earlier year planning what kind of lawyer you'd like to be, this is a must-attend event.

Hope to see you there!
