The Canberra Nara Candle Festival is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of the sister-city bond between Canberra and Nara, Japan. The festival transforms the park with 2,000 glowing candles as dusk falls. Visitors can enjoy a rich program featuring Japanese food and market stalls, cultural workshops like origami and calligraphy, martial arts demonstrations, martial-arts and cosplay competitions, live performances, and the communal lighting ceremony. This free event is a beautiful tribute to peace, goodwill, and cross-cultural friendship.
