Details

This 2-day Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants how to provide initial support to another adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received, or the crisis resolves.

Over 2 days (16 & 17 February) using a practical, evidence-based action plan, you will learn how to approach someone you are concerned about and initiate a conversation about those concerns.

You will also learn how to offer initial support and information and how to encourage the person to seek professional help or other supports.

Once you complete the course and the short online quiz, you will become a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider), equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to provide someone with mental health information and support when it matters most.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR PARTICIPANTS:
The training will run from 9 am - 5 pm on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 February 2026.

In order to complete the course, you will need to be present for the entirety of both days.
Following the course, you can complete an online quiz to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider.

The Mental Health First Aid course runs to a packed schedule, so on both days participants will need to arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time.

You can bring a pen and notebook if you wish, but you will be provided with a comprehensive manual, and you will not need to take extensive notes. There will be a break for lunch, and shorter breaks at other times, and the trainers will determine the timing of those breaks based on the way the content fits best.

We look forward to meeting you and exploring this training with you.
