Mission North Sydney IT Society is committed to upholding the core values of the Catholic intellectual tradition. The society will actively contribute to the pursuit of knowledge by creating opportunities for academic and technical skill development among its members. Moreover, the society will promote the dignity of the human person by fostering respectful dialogue on the ethical and social responsibilities inherent in technology, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for all. Furthermore, the society will serve the common good by encouraging members to apply their technical skills towards community oriented projects and initiatives that create a positive societal impact.
Membership BenefitsOur society offers a diverse range of opportunities to support both personal and professional development. We host **technical and academic workshops**, such as coding skill sessions and exam preparation tutorials, to help members strengthen their academic performance. To bridge the gap between education and industry, we organise **networking nights and career fairs**, as well as **guest lectures and panel discussions** featuring leading industry professionals. For those interested in hands-on learning, we run **hackathons and coding challenges**, including themed events like ‘AI for Good’. Beyond academics, we foster a strong sense of community through **regular social events and interdisciplinary mixers**. Our **formal peer mentorship program** ensures members can learn from and support one another. Additionally, we are committed to **championing diversity and inclusion in IT** through events like **Startup Pitch with ACU Co-Lab** and **Women in IT** initiatives.
