Community Closet and Sustainability Fair

Our most popular event is back again! It is the Community Closet and Sustainability Fair.

As the feature event of Sustainability Week, Student Life and the Strathfield Vinnies Society will be co-hosting a pop-up op-shop on campus: our Community Closet.

We need YOUR clothing and book donations! All (clean) pre-loved clothes and books are accepted and can be donated in the two weeks preceding the event outside the Student Life office in the marked collection bins. All donations remaining following the event will be donated to Vinnies.

At the event, attendees are invited to peruse our collection of pre-loved items and upcycle them into their own wardrobes and home libraries. Reducing our reliance on fast fashion and newly manufactured items and instead recycling items is not only better for the planet, but it is better for our wallets!

Vinnies Society will be supporting this event and providing information about how to get more involved in your community to both help the planet and to help those less fortunate.
