Applications for the Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship Scheme open nationally on Monday 29 August 2022, for study in 2023.
Not only is the Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship scheme celebrating its 20th anniversary, but we will also be offering up to 150 scholarship places, at least 20 of these are dedicated to the mental health studies discipline.
Thescholarship providesfinancialassistance toAboriginaland/orTorresStraitIslanderpeople whoare undertaking, or intending to undertake, study in a health-related course at an Australian educational institution in the following professions:
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care
• Mental health studies
• Medicine
• Allied health {all specialities except pharmacy)
• Midwifery
• Dentistry/oralhealth(excludingdentalassistants)
• Nursing {EN & RN}.
Scholarships are available for entry-level or graduate entry-level courses and are worth up to $15,000 per year for full-time study and $7,500 per year for part-time study. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be studying an eligible health-related course in semester one of 2023 and be able to confirm their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
