The mission of the HRS is to make a positive contribution to ACU’s student life by
encouraging inclusivity, leadership and community engagement whilst also advocating for
human rights issues. Fundamental to the HRS’ mission are the values of ACU; empathy,
justice and social responsibility. The HRS seeks to empower students to act as informed and
ethical leaders, endeavouring to make a positive impact amongst the international
community. Through events, publications, fundraisers and advocacy efforts, The HRS aims
to provide students the tools to contribute meaningfully to social justice initiatives at a local

Student Life is all about having fun on and off campus! Life at ACU isn't all about classes, study and assignments, it's about getting involved in campus life and being part of the ACU community. Student Life runs events on and off campus, including excursions and overnight trips. We also support our clubs and societies here in Canberra as well as our Signadou Student Association (SSA). You'll see Tom Cressy out and about on campus running our BBQ's, competitions and so much more. He has worked with ACU for 5 years now and is a First-Aid officer on campus and a Justice of the Peace so he can help you with certifying documents.
