September already? Say what?

Welcome to Week 6 - and congratulations for making it to hump week!

Last week, we celebrated Speech Pathology Week on campus and virtually! A BIG congratulations to Holly Ebsworthy for winning our Word Search Competition! Holly is the lucky winner of a fully funded SPA student membership fee!

We also celebrated Speech Pathology Week by hosting our annual Find Your Futures event. Although it was a little different this year via zoom, we still learnt lots about our future as Speech Pathologists. A big thank you to all who attended our Find Your Futures Night! And an even bigger thank you to our beautiful guest speakers! We were so honoured to hear your stories of how you all became Speechies and your journeys after University.

Good luck with all upcoming Assessment! And don't forget you can always reach out!

Anyways,

Talk more in October x

15th October - Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day

Did you know that DLD is a hidden, but common condition affecting two children in the average classroom? The DLD project is calling on everyone to #DLDseeMe.

22nd October - International Stuttering Awareness Day
Did you know that stuttering is a genetically-influenced condition: most of the time, if there is a person in a family who stutters, there will be another person in the family who also stutters. We hope that you can join us in spreading awareness, not just on Stuttering Awareness Day, but everyday.
