The semester wheels are well and truly turning once again, and we hope you’re travelling well so far. Being mid-winter you are no doubt enjoying the great indoor spaces on campus more than usual, and hopefully the wide variety of free activities, food and club/society events is making your time on campus worthwhile. Monday 8 August is a big day as it's the feast day of St Mary MacKillop – Australia's only saint and the patron saint of our university. We invite you to get involved in the campus celebrations. St Mary famously said, “never see a need without doing something about it”, so how’s that for a challenge in your day to day life?
Sunset Sessions are short twilight retreats that are an awesome opportunity to take a break from your busy university life and engage in great reflection time and good food with fellow students.
Dinner is provided so please RSVP to save a spot. There will be a fun activity that you can take home after the event too!
Join Student Life as we travel to the wonderful Yarra Valley for an overnight trip. We will visit some exciting locations over this two-day adventure full of new experiences and fun. Check out the Four Pillars gin distillery, Watts River Brewing Company, and Peyton and Jones Winery on day one followed by music and BBQ dinner at the accommodation. On day two we'll have some breakfast before travelling to the delicious treat-filled Yarra Valley Chocolatery and captivating Healesville Sanctuary before heading back to campus.
Get moving during Active August. This month-long initiative includes a range of classes, activities, tips and tricks, and challenges with great prizes to help you find your groove in a holistic, sustainable way.
Hopefully, you have settled into your classes. For us, it has been great to see some new and old faces back on campus. We have a few great events on in the coming weeks and are excited to have you come along if you are free. One event that many residential students find appealing is our residence dinner. Feel free to come along to the first Res Dinner of Semester 2.
The Campus Ministry Office is open for visits, and if you haven’t met Tanya yet, come and say hi. Make sure to keep up to date with our Insta for all of our events.
