First two weeks of classes down, well done! As you continue to adjust to a new routine, remember that there are many groups, services, events and opportunities to give you a deeper, fun, and more meaningful experience of university life. Whether it’s social, formational, free food, or spiritual, it is definitely not too late to join or be involved with any of our many student offerings – we’d love to welcome you! For all upcoming events or to find out how to be involved, check out ACU Life – I’m sure you’ll find something that’s for you.
Join Student Life and Jim - baa - yer as we celebrate Harmony Day in Forbes Student Centre.
This day is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day as this signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. There will be free food and activities on offer to celebrate the day.
International students are invited to a catered lunch in the Torney Room where you can meet up with other international students and also chat with your campus International Student Advisor, Fiona Bradley. Fiona will be there to answer any queries you have and to hear how the start of your semester is going. A limited number of ACU Tuckshop vouchers will be available for those who register for the event.
It’s already Week 3 and the semester is only just heating up. Student Life has many more exciting events and opportunities on the horizon. Aquinas Student Association (ASA) held their first big event for the semester with over 150 students attending the Welcome Back Western Party at the George Hotel. View the photos from the event here. Join ACU Life so you don’t miss out on future events.
UBL season starts now
ACU will play its first game in the 2023 University Basketball League on Wednesday, March 15. Cheer on our inaugural squads each week during the home and away rounds. See the action online at our Track watch parties or via UniSportTV.
Come along to our Connect groups where you can connect with other students, have a bite to eat and enjoy time out from your busy campus life. We choose topics related to university life to have a casual discussion about - it might be about uni life, relationships, managing stress, faith or life topics, or sometimes we just like to chill and enjoy each other's company. Come along to check it out at our first session this Tuesday which is looking at the topic of university life and that dreaded study enemy, procrastination.
