Whilst the Australian ski season might have ended, the slippery slope of the end of semester calls forth your best for those remaining written and practical tasks. You’re nearly there! Let’s hope the spring weather makes itself felt on all our campuses for the remaining weeks of semester, because when the weather warms up we know we’re entering End of year Ball season. There’s quite a bit happening on campus these next couple of weeks, so remember to treat yourself and chill out from study for the benefit of your mental health. Catch up with others or make new friends at the many free events, and let’s continue supporting each other in our ACU campus community.
Come and meet the Delta Dogs and see how they contribute to better mental health outcomes. We are also combining to recognise International Day of People with Disability and how companion animals improve outcomes.
Looking for a way to connect with other young people who are passionate about their faith? Join Campus Ministry at ‘Reclaim’ from 7-9pm on the first Tuesday of each month. Meet with other uni students to hang out, share faith, spend time in worship and hear from the guest speaker of the month. The next Reclaim will be held on Tuesday 1 November. To register click here or feel free to reach out to Campus Ministry (gabrielle.fernandes@acu.edu.au) to find out more.
Vibrant Banyo Campus
It has been so pleasing to see all the activity of a vibrant campus in the past few weeks. Lots of engagement with students and sharing food, and also playing sport with mates on the lawn. Many clubs and societies are reinvigorating their culture with events and recruiting new members. It is great to get involved on campus and build your network of peers from across a range of faculties. Thanks to all the students who have taken part in Student Life events this semester and also the volunteers who put up their hands to help. Good luck with your upcoming exams and work placements!
Play ball?
ACU Sport has one eye on the University Basketball League (UBL) in 2023 and wants to better understand our ballers across all campuses. If you play basketball, at any level, we want to hear from you. UBL is a semi-professional national university basketball competition providing a pathway for male and female basketball players to study and represent their university. There are currently eleven Australian universities in the league with ACU entering a national squad next year. Complete the EOI for more information.
