We hope you had a great start to Semester 2! Remember it is not too late to broaden your university experience with many groups, events and activities to be a part of. Whatever you are looking for, we’re sure you can find it on campus. Make sure to check out ACU Life to see all the offerings on campus - whether it’s social, something more profound, or just free food – you’ll find it on ACU Life.
Join Student Life for a sit-down lunch including offerings from all over the world! As one of Sydney's most multicultural suburbs, Blacktown offers a bewildering array of options - enjoy a taste of foods from all around the world - but you must register for this one so we know how many to cater for.
Weeks 3 and 4 at Blacktown are focused on celebrating the things that make us who we are. Learn about First Peoples culture at our NAIDOC celebration, read about the experiences of someone with autism, find out what to do when you witness bullying and join us for Wear it Purple Day cookies and craft. There’s activity just for fun, too – try axe throwing or enter our table tennis comp.
Sydney Cheer
Join the dynamic ACU Sydney Cheer Club, where students from Blacktown and beyond are welcome to participate. Based out of Silverwater, this is the ideal chance to acquire new skills and immerse yourself in the thrilling world of cheer. Whether you're a seasoned cheerleader or a complete novice, our inclusive club warmly embraces all students. For further details, don't hesitate to reach out to us at: sydcheerleadingclub@myacu.edu.au.
Upcoming activities on campus
Mission Week is coming up in Week 5 and it will celebrate who we are. Have you ever considered your purpose in life? Wondered what your life's mission must be? Here at ACU, we all have a mission – including you. A mission to make the world a better place. But we all have a specific purpose – what’s yours? Maybe you’ll be inspired to find it through an event, a conversation with Father or even a random act of kindness in the coming weeks.
Widening Participation Ambassador
Through ACU’s outreach program, you will connect with schools and communities from low socioeconomic, regional, remote, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. Encourage participation in workshops, lead tours and speak about your own university experience and inspire prospective students to consider higher education as a future pathway. Apply now.
